Every session is tailored to the client and his/her concern. On average a session is about 90 minutes long. I charge a flat fee of €90 per session.
Out-of-Pocket versus Insurance Payments
Depending on your insurance, reimbursement is possible or not. Some private health insurances do cover the costs for treatment by a „Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie“, statutory health insurances (in Germany) usually do not. Some exceptions may apply. Please make sure to clarify any questions with your insurance provider in time.
In some cases, it might not be beneficial to ask for insurance coverage. People who pay out-of-pocket are not subject to strict insurance regulations. Especially in acute crisis situations, swift professional help is important. Long waiting times for treatment are counter-productive, while fast help is crucial. Insurances often predetermine specific therapy methods and restrict the number of sessions and, above all, there is no obligation for documentation with the insurance, which can also be beneficial in some cases.
Please understand that I invoice you, not your health insurance. You are responsible for the timely payment of all fees incurred. Payment does not depend on any possible reimbursement by your insurance and is due upon service.
You might be able to claim out-of-pocket payments for psychotherapeutic treatment on your tax return. This is NOT meant to be tax advice. Please be sure to consult a tax adviser if needed.
The initial consultation, as well as all regular therapy sessions, are by appointment only, the time slot is reserved for this particular meeting/session exclusively. The agreed-upon appointment is binding.
If you cannot keep such an appointment, I respectfully request that you let me know as soon as possible. Good planning and reliability are in the interest of both parties. In the rare case, it is possible to cancel at no charge no less than 24 hours before your appointment.
